Just a quick first entry.
I’m just adopting a tripod dog from Taiwan named Marty. A mutt off the street whose right front limb was likely CUT off by some cruel person who dislikes strays for no good reason at all!
How could anybody do that to a face this precious???
He was rescued by a clinic in Taiwan and has been in foster care there since he was a puppy, I believe his siblings did not even make it.
I’m going to pick him up fresh of the plane from Taiwan on February 18th, and I’m so excited. I hope my cats like him. He doesn’t care one way or another for cats, he’s very mellow and sweet and submissive, so fingers crossed.
I’m in the search for a prosthetic maker because his front left paw is not doing so well supporting all his weight, possibly from malnutrition when he was healing this wound or that paw was injured too. I want him to have the best life I can provide. The rescue in Taiwan is going to do their best to help fund his health care costs too, which is just amazing. Truly wonderful people.
He’s currently named Marty and he’s almost 11 months old now. I think I’m going to name him Sammy, from Sam/San (3 in Korean/Chinese/Japanese) 🙂
Right now I’m just trying to get some doggy supplies and outfit my home in preparation. Only 2 1/2 weeks! I need to find good beds and rugs for him, and a crate. My parents are both vets so I have a great information resource at my disposal, however their practices are too far for me to bring Sammy to so I’m looking for a vet in the OC where I live.
